Eloping in New Orleans Audubon Park at the Tree of Life – Rachel & François

This amazing and beautiful couple, having just finished up an incredible six month trip around the world, decided to elope in New Orleans.  Their schedule was flexible within a period of a few days, and Rachel suggested that we shoot early in the morning, and I’m so glad she did!  Though it felt a bit unusual driving into town so early that it was still dark outside, it was worth it as we wanted to get started right at sunrise.  We had mutually decided on the area around the Tree of Life in Audubon Park, and I arrived a few minutes before dawn to find them ready to go.  It was immediately apparent that this was going to be a very special New Orleans elopement session, as a beautiful misty fog hovered over the grass, providing a peaceful and magical ambiance that made for some truly amazing images.  We started with some portraits of the couple walking through the mist, then they sat and enjoyed a romantic picnic breakfast as I captured candid shots from afar, and finished up the memorable session with a few more posed portraits around the massive oak tree, which is estimated to be around 500 years old.
