Katy & Brantley’s Elopement at the Algiers Courthouse

I had a great time with this wonderful Oklahoma couple who came down to New Orleans to elope, accompanied by a few close friends and family.  After the morning wedding ceremony at the historic Algiers Courthouse (directly across the Mississippi River from New Orleans), officiated by Judge Teena Anderson-Trahan, we did some portraits of the newly married couple around the courthouse, and then boarded the ferry at the nearby terminal to head back across the river to the French Quarter, where we continued with more portraits.  We gradually made our way toward Jackson Square, where the rest of the group had gathered in preparation for a second line parade through the streets.  The parade kicked off with the New Birth Brass Band (who had just been recruited on the spot by Brantley’s mom!) leading the way, and it was a wonderful way to cap off the celebration!
