Ashley and Jeremy's wedding reception took place at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, where Fat Cat Flowers had decorated the space beautifully. This French Quarter wedding venue's elegant and spacious ballroom is a great place for a large wedding reception, and it also benefits from its close proximity to popular ceremony locations like Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral, and the hotel itself can host a ceremony in its spacious garden terrace.
But this couple's ceremony actually took place at the Elms Mansion in Uptown New Orleans, and in exciting treat for the mostly out-of-town guests, everyone was transported on several chartered streetcars (each with its own compliment of musicians on board for entertainment during the ride) past the stately mansions down St. Charles Avenue to Canal Street, where they disembarked and then walked the few blocks to the hotel to begin the celebration. This would have been a perfect opportunity to incorporate a second line parade (from the streetcar stop to the hotel), but they decided to save that festive New Orleans wedding tradition for the end of the night.
This photograph was taken during the bride and groom's first dance as husband and wife, which is always a great opportunity to capture wonderful images of the couple.
Here's the nice comments I received from the bride after the wedding:
My husband and I selected Michael Caswell for our wedding photographer. He was so easy to work with and was so pleasant to be around. We love our photos and highly recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a photographer. He is very trustworthy, extremely professional, and reliable. You will be very happy that you selected Michael Caswell as your photographer!
