This happy couple dance with their friends during their wedding reception at the Federal Ballroom in the Security Center. Their wedding was postponed because of COVID-19, with a small ceremony taking place on their original date in 2020 along with some fun portraits in the French Quarter, and the big party delayed to mid-2021. It was well worth the wait!
This impressive building was constructed in 1923 as a Federal Reserve Bank, and is now used as a private secure storage facility, complete with a large vault with a massive door that makes for an interesting background for a bride and groom photo before the reception begins.
This couple had a wild reception that was loads of fun to photograph!
We wrapped up the night with a second line parade through downtown New Orleans!
The Federal Ballroom is a unique venue that can accommodate ceremonies and receptions, and is conveniently located on the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line. Several major hotels are located nearby, and Immaculate Conception Church is right around the corner, making the combination of a ceremony there at the Jesuit Church and the reception at the Federal Ballroom a popular choice for New Orleans brides.
Location: 147 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA 70130.
