This wonderful couple from California exchanged vows in the gorgeous courtyard of the St. Louis Hotel in the French Quarter, with Rev. John Zimmer conducting the ceremony. It was a rainy evening, so the retractable awning over the courtyard was a godsend! Afterward, a reception followed with Dr. Jazz providing the entertainment. At the end of the night, the weather had cleared up, and Dr. Jazz led the couple and guests on a Second Line parade through the Quarter, which, as always, was a blast!
I had done an engagement portrait with Michelle & Nick a few months ago, and a bridal portrait just a few days before the wedding, and this Texas couple was a lot of fun to work with!
Their wedding, which was expertly planned and coordinated by Unique Weddings in New Orleans, took place at the beautiful St. Louis Hotel in the French Quarter, with the ceremony being conducted by Rev. Johnny Adams. Michelle and Nick are both medical professionals (Michelle a nurse, and Nick a doctor) specializing in pulmonary medicine, so Nick’s groom’s cake was an amazingly-rendered set of lungs… good thing Nick’s not a urologist!
After the reception, everyone took to the streets of the French Quarter for a second line parade led by the fabulous Pin-Stripe Brass Band, ending up at the Royal Sonesta for an after-party at the second-floor corner balcony suite.
This nice couple’s ceremony and reception took place at the St. Louis Hotel. Before the ceremony, Kari and John sent gifts to each other’s rooms (delivered by one of Kari’s bridesmaids). John’s gift to Kari was a new iPhone, which she was very excited about. He even had found a red case, Kari’s favorite color (as is apparent in her choice of wedding decorations!), and pre-loaded it with a reminder on the calendar of what was coming up at 7:00 (their wedding!). The beautiful floral arrangements were provided by Dunn & Sonnier.
After the ceremony, Jerry Embree and the Flavors of New Orleans performed for the reception, with a sparkler exit to a waiting carriage at the end of the night. The event was expertly coordinated by Unique Weddings in New Orleans.
