Caroline & Keith’s Wedding at St. John the Baptist & The Foundry – 6/26/10

You only have to spend a few minutes with this couple to know that they are perfect for each other!  I had a lot of fun with their engagement portrait and Caroline’s bridal portrait, and their wedding was a blast!

Caroline wore the same dress her late mother was married in over 40 years ago, and she had her and her mother’s initials and wedding dates monogrammed to the inside of the dress.

The ceremony took place at beautiful St. John the Baptist Church in New Orleans, one of my favorite churches to shoot at!

The reception took place at The Foundry in the warehouse district, a fabulous venue.  Harvey Jesus & Fire entertained, and performed a huge variety of music!

Cutting the cake…

Cutting the cupcake!

When I photographed Caroline’s sister Ashley’s wedding two years ago, the family put together a cowboy skit (complete with costumes and props) to welcome Ashley’s husband Zach to the family.  The family carried on that tradition for Caroline’s wedding, this time donning hazmat suits and posing as a BP oil spill cleanup crew.  Caroline & Keith were suited up as well, and were presented with a few essential items… a bottle of Dawn detergent for cleaning up, and an official BP claims form.  The oil spill is an absolutely awful situation for everyone down here, but we can still maintain good spirits in the face of such adversity!

St. John the Baptist & Federal Ballroom Wedding – Hillary & Adam

Hillary and Adam exchanged vows at the beautiful St. John the Baptist church in New Orleans.  The reception took place at the Federal Ballroom in the Security Center building downtown… this was my first time shooting here, and I found it to be a fabulous venue!  Oak Alley did a great job with the entertainment.  At the end of the night, the guests gathered outside and heckled Cowboys fans walking back to their hotels from the game before giving the couple a wonderful send-off in a carriage.

St. John the Baptist Church & Westin Canal Place Wedding in New Orleans – Natalie & Nick – 1/3/09

I had a great time photographing Natalie’s sister’s wedding almost two years ago, and was thrilled to be invited to work with this wonderful family again. Natalie & Nick’s ceremony took place at the beautiful St. John the Baptist Church in New Orleans, with the reception being held at the Westin Canal Place. It was a stormy evening, but that didn’t stop everyone from having a great time!

Nick had a really neat groom’s cake… a beautifully rendered wilderness scene.

The couple picked No Idea to entertain during the reception. As usual, the band did a great job, and Troy even manned a washboard as they performed Jambalaya! (and that’s a good example of how versatile this band is… they can go from rock to zydeco to modern dance to motown, and sound right at home with all these genres).
