Photojournalistic wedding photography & portraits for New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and the North Shore
Kristina & Doug’s wedding happened to take place on the same day as the infamous “Red Dress Run”, with a group of participants jumping in for a quick picture with the wedding party on Bourbon Street. The ceremony was held in the Royal Sonesta’s courtyard, with the reception taking place in the hotel’s new Fleur De Lis room, where Ooh La La Music Company provided the entertainment.
I had done an engagement portrait with Michelle & Nick a few months ago, and a bridal portrait just a few days before the wedding, and this Texas couple was a lot of fun to work with!
Their wedding, which was expertly planned and coordinated by Unique Weddings in New Orleans, took place at the beautiful St. Louis Hotel in the French Quarter, with the ceremony being conducted by Rev. Johnny Adams. Michelle and Nick are both medical professionals (Michelle a nurse, and Nick a doctor) specializing in pulmonary medicine, so Nick’s groom’s cake was an amazingly-rendered set of lungs… good thing Nick’s not a urologist!
After the reception, everyone took to the streets of the French Quarter for a second line parade led by the fabulous Pin-Stripe Brass Band, ending up at the Royal Sonesta for an after-party at the second-floor corner balcony suite.
Alison & Philip decided to see each other prior to the ceremony, something more and more couples are doing these days. In addition to making it possible to get all the formal group shots done before the ceremony, the “first glance” also makes for some wonderful images… I could have done a whole blog post just of those shots!
The ceremony took place at the ornate and beautiful Immaculate Conception church in downtown New Orleans, with the reception at the Royal Sonesta’s elegant ballroom. Bobby J entertained, and kept the dance floor packed!
Philip is a huge Ferrari fan… in addition to Ferrari cuff links, his groom’s cake was a beautiful rendition of a Ferrari engine!
