Like other Mississippi Gulf Coast couples whose weddings I have photographed, Amanda & Kyle were just really nice, down-to-earth people, and I had a great time shooting their engagement portrait and wedding. Their ceremony and reception took place at the elegant country club in beautiful Diamondhead, Mississippi.
The gorgeous green and white floral arrangements were crafted by Rekers in Slidell.
What a delightful couple! The ceremony took place at a historic Biloxi church, The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Early in the ceremony, the priest interrupted himself, announcing “there are two happy, SMILING faces up here… Heather and Jeff, turn around for a moment so everyone can see.” I was a little nervous about the reception venue, a community center behind the church… usually, “community center” invokes visions of a drab, boring interior. But that certainly was not the case here… it was actually quite beautiful. During the reception, Jeff and the guys got up on stage to perform a stirring rendition of YMCA!
