Meghan and Matt’s Wedding at Metairie Baptist Church and The Elms Mansion

I enjoyed photographing this Houston couple several months ago for their engagement portrait, and their wedding was a blast as well! The ceremony took place at Metairie Baptist Church, and then we headed over to The Elms Mansion for the reception. Voodoo Funk and Soul Co. entertained, with 2 great vocalists and a fabulous horn section. And Matt even sang a few songs!

Brooke and Ryan picked a beautiful day to get married! Their wedding was at The Balcony, and I was very happy to be shooting at this wonderful venue again. Rev. Johnny Adams performed the ceremony, and a lively reception followed.

Rachel & John – St. Phillip Neri Church, Champagne Palace, Metairie – 11/9/07

This delightful couple exchanged vows at St. Phillip Neri church in Metairie, followed by a reception at the beautiful Champagne Palace in Elmwood. John is a volunteer fireman/medic, and were taken to the reception in a fire engine, certainly the most unique “limo” I’ve ever seen! At Champagne Palace, as we were doing the formal group shots out in the garden area, Rachel whispered to me, “I want to get in the fountain after we’re done with these shots.”

“IN the fountain?” I replied.

“Yes, in the fountain. But do you think they’ll let me?”

“Hmmmm… well, sometimes it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission,” I replied with a somewhat mischievous grin.

Sure enough, a little while later, after distracting her bridal attendant with a drink request, John lifted Rachel up and placed her in the fountain. She held her dress up to keep it from getting too wet, and splashed around a bit. The bridal attendant was a little surprised, but took it in stride.
