Photojournalistic wedding photography & portraits for New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and the North Shore
Lindsey & Shawn’s wedding took place at the beautiful Maison Dupuy Hotel in the French Quarter. We started out with a “first look” in the small back courtyard… those are always make for great images! The ceremony and reception took place in the larger main courtyard. The Brandon Foret Band entertained… what a great band! A few of the couple’s friends joined in to sing some songs as well.
Elaine & Jesse had their ceremony and reception in the beautiful Maison Dupuy hotel’s courtyard. Before the ceremony, the couple saw each other for the first time that day in the secluded small courtyard at the back of the hotel, and some wonderful images were captured of that. After the emotional ceremony conducted by Rev. John Zimmer, it was time for the reception.
When it came time for the bouquet and garter tosses, Jesse’s best man made an impressive leaping catch of the garter (which is rare… usually the guys just watch it fall to the ground!).
And in addition to cake, they also served ice cream sundaes!
This very nice couple came to New Orleans from Miami to get married (though Javier is from here originally). They had set aside some time before the ceremony for us to be able to spend an hour shooting around the French Quarter, which was lots of fun! As we got started with that session, an early St. Patrick’s Day parade was passing near the hotel, and the couple was “ambushed” by an endless stream of well-wishing revellers who loaded them down with tons of beads and other trinkets.
Rev. John Zimmer officiated the ceremony, and Dr. Jazz performed both for the ceremony and the reception. At the end of the reception, the band led Kerry & Javier and the guests around the courtyard, and then out to the waiting carriage, which whisked the couple away!
