Erin & Sanjeev’s Wedding at Nirvana, Holy Name, and Gallier Hall | 10/22/11

I had a great time working with Erin and Sanjeev for their engagement portrait earlier this year, and their wedding was truly a spectacular event! First was an exquisite Hindu ceremony at Nirvana Restaurant on Magazine Street. Then later in the evening, a Catholic ceremony was held at beautiful Holy Name of Jesus Church, after which we headed to Gallier Hall for the reception, where Bobby J & Stuff Like That Band entertained, with Andrea Patton coordinating the event. And I owe a big “thank you” to Erin’s sister Amy for standing in line to grab me a plate of jambalaya so that I could keep shooting uninterrupted!

Marlee & Mark’s Wedding at Gallier Hall – 5/30/10

This Washington DC couple’s wedding was a lot of fun! For their guests who had come in from out of town, Marlee and Mark supplied welcome bags with goodies, and a fantastic little booklet that contained lists of the couple’s favorite things to do and best places to eat in New Orleans, with an accompanying illustrated map, and a helpful glossary that defined terms like “lagniappe” and “second line”.

The ceremony and reception, coordinated by Andrea at Another Perfect Affair, took place at Gallier Hall… it was great shooting in such a historic and elegant location! Cool Bones Brass Band performed for the ceremony, and for the rest of the night at the reception as well, and everyone had a great time listening and dancing to authentic New Orleans music. Mark, being an avid outdoorsman, had a really neat groom’s cake that looked like a kayak! They even had a snowball stand brought in!

At the end of the night, the couple departed through a shower of silver confetti and into the waiting carriage.
