Shades of Praise, a talented gospel choir, performed before and during the ceremony at Trinity Episcopal Church. The reception followed at the gorgeous Elms Mansion on St. Charles Ave., with Michele Adams of Unique Weddings in New Orleans keeping things running smoothly.
This wedding and reception took place at The Elms Mansion on St. Charles Ave. Ryan is a naval aviator, and many of the guests were military officers as well. As the immaculately dressed groomsmen were unpacking and examining their swords, curiosity got the best of me, and I asked the one officer wearing a dark uniform what the significance of his uniform color was, vs. the white uniforms everyone else was wearing. In a polite, but firm “don’t mess with me, photo-boy” voice, he stated “I’m a Marine… THAT’S the significance.” Later, during the reception, in a scene right out of a movie, several of the officers took over the bar, helping the Elms’ hard-working bartenders serve up drinks.
