Emily & Stephen were a lot of fun to work with when I did their engagement portrait last year, and their wedding was absolutely spectacular! Michele Adams of Unique Weddings in New Orleans and her staff expertly coordinated the event. The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Church at the old Ursuline Convent, and then, accompanied by the fabulous Pin-Stripe Brass Band, we second lined through the French Quarter to Jackson Square for champagne and the formal group photos.
We then headed over to Rosy’s Jazz Hall for the reception. Swingaroux was on hand for the entertainment, and they made good use of the big stage at Rosy’s. This band is fantastic, and kept the dance floor hopping the whole night! The crowd really got a kick out of a couple of the guests taking the stage (on drums, and keyboards/vocals) for a rousing performance of Stormy Monday, and near the end of the night, the bride and groom even joined in with some percussion.
The beautiful cakes (yes, those whiskey jugs are cakes) were crafted by Shirelle at Royal Cakery.
