Rachel & David’s Wedding at Oak Crest Mansion in Pass Christian Mississippi | 5/12/12

I enjoyed working with Rachel and David for their engagement portrait in Bay St. Louis last year and was really looking forward to their wedding at the elegant Oak Crest Mansion in Pass Christian.

The weather was a iffy, forcing the ceremony indoors, but fortunately it rained only lightly and sporadically, so we were able to do our first look outside, along with some shots of the bride and groom after the ceremony in the gorgeous light that was left behind once the rain cleared out.  For the reception, Soul Vaccination did a great job with the entertainment.

The event was expertly coordinated by Susie of A Plan to Remember who was a pleasure to work with.

Laura & Andrew’s Wedding at St. Louis Cathedral & Pat O’s on the River | 5/11/12

Laura and Andrew’s ceremony took place at the historic St. Louis Cathedral, but before that we did an emotional first look and mini portrait session in Jackson Square.  Jackson Square was a challenging location to do a first look, since with all the walkways there’s a distinct possibility that an unknowing pedestrian could wander through at just the wrong time.  But Andrew’s groomsmen were on top of it, fanning out like a Secret Service detail, guarding the perimeter for us.

The ceremony was great… Father Bedemoore Udechukwu even performed a song he had written for the couple!

After the ceremony, we walked across the street to Pat O’s on the River in Jax Brewery for the reception, where first the Joe Simon Trio performed, then later the legendary Topcats.  At the end of the night, the Kinfolk Brass Band (who were just plain amazing) showed up to lead everyone out of the reception and through the French Quarter to cap off this wonderful evening.
