Kim & Brian’s Wedding – Chateau Bourbon Hotel New Orleans – 5/24/09

This friendly Atlanta couple’s ceremony and reception were at the Chateau Bourbon Hotel in the French Quarter.  The ceremony took place outside in the courtyard, and thankfully the weather cooperated!  After the bridal party and the two adorable flower girls came down the aisle, an impressive performance of dancers and African drums announced the bride’s arrival.

Then it was on to the reception, where everyone had a great time.  And at the end of the night, the Kin Folk Brass Band led everyone through a thrilling second line parade through the French Quarter!

Helen & Lyle’s Wedding in Baton Rouge – Old State Capitol & Old Governor’s Mansion – 5/23/09

This delightful couple’s ceremony took place in the historic House Chamber of the Old State Capitol overlooking the river in Baton Rouge.  This building famously resembles a castle, but the interior is gloriously cathedral-like.  Afterwards, we headed right down the street to the elegant Old Governor’s Mansion for the reception.

Helen surprised Lyle with a Super Mario Bros. themed cake, as he is a big fan of that series of games!  The Michael Foster Project performed during the reception… they were a fantastic band, playing a great mix of jazz, dance songs, and brass funk music.  At the end of the night, Helen & Lyle departed through a shower of bubbles!

Tanya & Maxim’s Wedding at Parkview Terrace New Orleans City Park – 5/17/09

Tanya & Maxim’s ceremony and reception took place at Parkview Terrace in New Orleans City Park.  It was my first time shooting there, and I found it to be a very nice venue!  The ceremony was performed by Rev. John Zimmer, and the reception entertainment was provided by a wonderfully talented group of jazz musicians from Tulane, where Maxim is a classical music professor.  The couple performed an impressive first dance, which I had seen a small preview of during their engagement portrait a few months ago!
