Lauren & Matt’s Wedding – Holy Name & St. Louis Hotel, French Quarter, New Orleans – 1/26/08

What a night! After the ceremony at Holy Name, we were off to the beautiful courtyard of the St. Louis Hotel in the French Quarter for the reception. As is usually the case, everyone seemed to really love this venue, and I overheard one guest exclaiming “this is the most beautiful wedding reception I’ve ever been to!”

Most of those in attendance were from out of town, so the conclusion of the night was an extra special treat. The fabulous Pin-Stripe Brass Band led everyone in a second line march around the courtyard, and then we headed out onto the street. A second line through the French Quarter is always a special occasion, but to march down Bourbon Street, packed with revelers from the Mardi Gras parade earlier cheering and snapping pictures from the sidewalks and balconies, was a truly incredible experience that I am sure none of them, nor the bride and groom, will ever forget.

Rachel & Adrian’s Wedding – Westin Canal Place, New Orleans – 1/19/08

Though it was a cold, blustery day outside, it was warm and inviting inside the Westin as Rachel and Adrian were wed under an absolutely beautiful candlelit chuppah crafted by Dunn & Sonnier Flowers.

After the ceremony, the New Orleans Klezmer All Stars performed for the first part of the reception, with the always fabulous Distractions entertaining and keeping the dance floor packed for the remainder of the night. And yes, that bulldog shown below is a cake! It was created by Zoë’s Bakery, and everyone cringed when it came time to slice up this incredible creation.

At the conclusion of the reception, the Distractions’ horn section led everyone in a Second Line around the ballroom, culminating in a wonderful flower petal send-off for the bride and groom.

Michele Adams and her Unique Weddings in New Orleans staff ensured the memorable event went smoothly.
