Photojournalistic wedding photography & portraits for New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and the North Shore
My last wedding of the year was at the wonderful Southern Oaks Plantation in New Orleans. Alanna & Steven make a wonderful couple, and I enjoyed photographing their wedding. Steven’s father, who passed away several years ago, was an NOPD veteran with over 20 years on the force. In remembrance, Steven wore a small NOPD shield on his tie.
Rev. John Zimmer officiated the emotional ceremony, and the reception was non-stop fun, with the great food and awesome service Southern Oaks is known for.
Danielle & Devrin’s wedding ceremony was held at St. John the Baptist, a beautiful Catholic church in Edgard Louisiana.
Afterwards, we headed over to West St. John High School’s gym for the reception. The gym was very nicely decorated in a Christmas theme! At the end of the night, a brass band led a festive Second Line around the gym.
Chenoa and Josh braved a stormy and windy afternoon for their engagement portrait in the French Quarter. Bad weather was in the forecast, but we managed to get the shoot done in between patches of rain, and had a great time!
They are getting married in Florida at a resort that requires them to use the house photographer… too bad, as I would have loved to have photographed this fun couple’s wedding!
