Melissa wanted something a bit “gritty”, as opposed to a more formal, elegant setting for her bridal portrait. So, we had a great time wandering the French Quarter along with her mother and sister, and captured a very nice variety of images.

What a gorgeous church! There is no shortage of beautiful churches in New Orleans, and Our Lady of the Rosary on Bayou St. John is no exception. The reception followed at the nearby Pavilion of Two Sisters in City Park. The bridal party and family braved frigid (by New Orleans standards) temperatures outside for the group formal shots. Inside, After 8 provided the entertainment. This band had a fresh, energetic style, and an outstanding sound. At one point, a guest named Hayes joined the band onstage during an extended keyboard solo. He hit one note repeatedly to the beat of the music, and being able to play along with the band just put this young man on top of the world.
This delightful couple from West Virginia was married on a beautiful and sunny afternoon at Southern Oaks Plantation. After the ceremony, the rousing music of the fabulous Pin-Stripe brass band led the guests inside and entertained as we did the group formals.
